THE STORY

In 2012, Ashlee Taylor’s stepdad, Glenn, was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident that left him hospitalized and fighting to survive. During his recovery, Glenn would often describe himself, with a mix of humor and humility, as “just one broken biker.” Those words resonated deeply with Ashlee, capturing the personal struggles of injured riders everywhere.

Determined to help her family during this challenging time, Ashlee teamed up with her close friend Elle. Together, they organized an event to rally the community and raise support for Glenn and their family. What began as a small, heartfelt initiative quickly grew into something much bigger than they ever imagined.

That first event brought bikers together in an overwhelming show of support, and its success sparked a realization: this wasn’t just about one rider—it was about all injured riders. Ashlee and Elle’s efforts turned into an annual event, and before long, One Broken Biker grew into a national movement, supporting multiple injured riders each year.

Today, One Broken Biker has grown far beyond its humble beginnings, now providing support to over 200 injured riders annually. The organization is 100% volunteer-run and continues to be driven by the same passion and community spirit that started it all.

From Glenn’s words in a hospital room to an organization making a difference across Canada, One Broken Biker stands as a testament to the power of compassion, community, and action. All because of one broken biker, thousands of lives have been touched, proving that together, we ride stronger.

HOW WE HELP?

How One Broken Biker Helps

At One Broken Biker, our mission is to provide immediate and meaningful support to injured riders and their families during one of the most challenging times of their lives. Here’s how we make a difference:

1. Financial Assistance

We understand that a motorcycle accident can bring unexpected medical bills, time off work, and other financial burdens. Through our fundraising efforts, we provide financial support to help alleviate some of these pressures, so injured riders and their families can focus on recovery.

2. Care Packages

We deliver personalized care packages filled with thoughtful items to brighten the day of injured riders. These packages often include comfort items, practical supplies, and resources to make their recovery journey a little easier.

3. Community Connections

Through our events and network of volunteers, we connect injured riders with a supportive community. Whether it’s a friendly face at an event or someone to lean on, we make sure no injured biker feels alone.

4. Referrals and Resources

We provide access to a wide range of resources, including legal and medical referrals, to ensure injured riders and their families receive the guidance they need to navigate their recovery.

5. Advocacy and Awareness

By sharing the stories of injured riders and raising awareness about motorcycle safety, we foster a culture of compassion and responsibility within the biking community and beyond.

Every step we take is fueled by the generosity of our members, sponsors, and volunteers. Together, we’re able to support over 200 injured riders each year, ensuring they know they’re not alone on their road to recovery.

One Broken Biker is more than just an organization—it’s a lifeline for riders in need.
